A day for learning: GF day 3

Today was a holy day of obligation. I have already told my home parish that I need GF host, but we went to another church today so that we could take my grandparents and avoid going right at nap time/bed time. I'm standing in church, singing the memorial acclamation and almost blurt out "shoot!" because I had forgotten to let anyone know I needed the GF host. Well, the whole point of mass is the Eucharist and remember and thanking Christ for his sacrifice for us. I couldn't NOT take it, right? So I thought "How bad could it be, I'll be fine". Boy was I wrong!

~ Note to self (and other GF Catholics): get the GF host!

On another note, I found a recipe for lemon crinkle cookies that wasn't GF. I figured I'd sub in the GF flour and see what happened. They look so bad! However, they taste just like normal cookies :) I think if I make them smaller and cook them a tad longer, they'll be just like normal people cookies! I'm going to be making them again once this batch is gone (probably within 48 hours...) and I'll take some pictures and post a tutorial on them. Now, if they don't turn out well, I won't embarrass myself, but I'll at least give it a shot. You can simply sub in non-GF flour if you want to make them for "normal" people.

Arianna still has a bunch of hives around her mouth that come and go. Of course, this happens each time she eats gluten, but I'm pretty sure I could very easily be reading into this, so until my results come back, I'll stop thinking that. Life is moving quickly around here!I find it hard to believe that it has been nearly 2 years since I found out I was pregnant with Arianna! My how life has changed.

Christmas is nearly here and I realized last night that I have two more rehearsals with my ensembles until Christmas eve. BAH! What's worse? I'm already planning for lent and Easter....*wince*
